Getting started
What is Luna Calorie?
Luna is an Android food and nutrition journal. Log meals by photo, voice, text, or barcode, review calories and macros, and follow your weight and progress over time.
How do I install the app?
Luna is in Google Play closed testing. Join the tester group, opt in on Google Play, then install — all with the same Google account. Follow the three steps.
Why can't I install the app yet?
Check that you joined the Google Group and accepted the test invitation with the account signed in to your Play Store. Google Play can take a few minutes to grant access. If it still doesn't work, email support@luna-calorie.in.
Is it free?
Yes. Luna is free during closed testing, with no payment card or subscription required.
Is there an iPhone or web app?
Not currently. Luna is an Android app. This website is for information; there's no browser version.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign in with Google or with an email and password. Your account keeps your journal and preferences synced.
Logging meals
What are the ways to log a meal?
Type a description, speak it with the microphone, take a photo of your plate or a menu, or scan a packaged food's barcode. You can also re-log favourites and recent meals.
How should I describe portions?
Be as specific as you can: “200 g chicken”, “2 roti”, “1 katori dal”, or “1 glass milk”. Household measures work, and exact grams give the best results.
Does logging work offline?
Your journal is cached on the device, but turning a description, photo, voice note, or barcode into nutrition needs an internet connection.
What happens if a photo can't be analysed?
Luna tells you it couldn't read the photo and lets you retry or enter the values yourself. It won't log a placeholder estimate.
How do I edit or undo a log?
Right after saving you'll see an Undo option. Later, tap any meal in your journal to open its details and edit items, portions, or nutrition.
Accuracy & health
How accurate are the nutrition estimates?
AI-assisted estimates depend on the food information and portions provided. They can be inaccurate, so review the results and edit your entries as needed.
Where do the numbers come from?
Depending on the meal, from product labels via Open Food Facts, a built-in library of 1,028 Indian foods, or AI-assisted estimation. Treat every figure as an estimate.
How are my targets set?
From your profile and activity level, with default macro ranges within WHO guidance (protein 10–35%, carbs 45–65%, fat 15–30% of energy). You can change them anytime.
Is Luna medical advice?
No. Luna is a tracking tool for general information. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions about your diet or health.
Account & data
What happens to my data?
Luna uses an account to save your journal and preferences. AI features process the content you submit to provide results. Our Privacy Policy explains what is stored, how it is processed, and your choices.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Export your history and preferences from Settings as JSON or a spreadsheet, and share it through Android's share sheet.
How do I clear my journal?
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy and choose to clear your food journal entries. Your account stays active.
How do I delete my account?
Delete your account from Settings. This permanently removes your data, and the same email can't be used to register again. See the retention details.
Does Luna connect to Health Connect or Google Fit?
Not currently. Luna does not read or write Android Health Connect data.
