We're building the food journal we wanted to use.

Most calorie apps feel like homework, struggle with home-cooked meals, and leave you feeling judged. Luna is our attempt at something calmer and more honest.

Founded 20

Our story

It started with a simple question.

Why is it so hard to keep a food journal for more than a week? Luna Calorie was founded on June 20, 2026, to answer it: make everyday food tracking easier to understand and easier to keep up with.

Logging should take seconds, not minutes. Numbers should come with honesty about how they were estimated. And a journal should work for real meals — dosa and dal as well as packaged snacks — without making anyone feel bad about what they ate.

Luna is an Android app in closed alpha testing today. It's still growing, and the people testing it help decide what comes next.

Our mission

Help people understand what they eat — clearly, kindly, and with as little effort as possible.

What we believe

Principles we build by.

Estimate honestly

Every number is an estimate, labelled as one, and correctable in a tap. We never claim clinical accuracy.

Evidence over trends

Defaults and guidance reference World Health Organization recommendations, not fads.

Calm, never shaming

No “bad food” labels, no cheat days, and nothing that rewards restriction or rapid weight loss.

Your data stays yours

We don't sell personal information or use it for advertising. Export or delete it whenever you like.

The journey so far

Small steps, logged.

  1. Luna Calorie is founded

Work begins on a calmer, more honest Android food journal.

  2. First Google Play test build

The earliest testers start logging real meals.

  3. Rapid iteration

Several builds in quick succession refine logging, nutrition details, and progress screens.

  4. Version 1.0.0 in closed alpha

A refreshed design, faster capture, and corrections across every entry.

  5. Next

    Shaped by testers

Feedback from the alpha decides what we build and fix before a wider release.

Clear boundaries

What Luna isn't.

Being clear about limits is part of being trustworthy.

  • A medical device, diagnosis, or substitute for a qualified professional.
  • A source of clinically exact nutrition values.
  • A diet plan that pushes extreme restriction or rapid weight loss.
  • A social network, ad platform, or seller of your data.
  • Available on iPhone or the web — for now, it's Android only.
